The test had gone better than expected. Four out of the five trials were deemed a complete success. Forty-one people were dead as a result. To those behind the test, they were the right people. The people they had been aiming at.
A sudden wave of deaths from an unidentified illness drew the attention of the Center for Disease Control and soon after, the police. Was it a crime, or was it something as simple as tainted food?
In a world steeped in bigotry and hate, there were those who saw themselves as soldiers in an invisible war. A war they would gladly die for; a war they believed they had to win.
